June Wrap Up! *didn’t read much :(*

Hi guys!

I’m so sorry I haven’t posted in so long, but I had my first uni exam session during June and didn’t do anything much that month apart from studying and now I’m doing an internship, so I have very little time to post and read and write. Anyways I still wanted to share the few books I did read during June. πŸ™‚

Book I read in June:

  • An Amber in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan:

  • The Lightning Thief
  • The Sea of Monsters
  • The Titan’s Curse
  • The Battle of the Labyrinth

Read in the last too days, counting even though it’s July:

  • The Kiss of Deception
  • The Heart of Betrayal

I know the actual list of June is very short, but I ask for your forgivness, I am finally bit by bit getting out of my slump and I just read 2 books in the past 2 days! So hopefully my list of July is goign to be a lot longer and also I might finally find time to catch up on some of those reviews! πŸ™‚

May Wrap Up!

Hi everyone!

So first of all, I am super sorry I haven’t posted much this month, but what I lacked in reviewing I made up in reading! Read 11 books during the month of May and I’m now 6 books ahead of schedule on my goodreads 2016 challenge (47/100), I might need to increase my goal later in the year! πŸ™‚

So let’s get to it, I mostly kept to my TBR with a few exceptions and I still will be putting the two books I didn’t get to in the June TBR pile!

Books I read during the month the finals started (some sadness there for fellow uni students, my exams started on the 18th of May and I’ve still got two weeks till my last one 😦 )

From May TBR:

  • The Crown (The Selection #5) by Kiera Cass, my review of this book is already up! 5/5 stars and a sleepless night!
  • Rush Too Far (Rosemary Beach #4, Too Far #4) by Abbi Glines, still working on that review for the Too Far series..
  • The Rose And The Dagger (The Wrath And The Dawn #2) by Renee Ahdieh, 4,8/5 stars and a sleepless night!
  • The Raven King (The Raven Cycle #4) by Maggie Stiefvater, I’m currently writting the review for the whole cycle, hopefully I will post it tomorrow πŸ™‚
  • A Court Of Mist And Fury (A Court Of Thorns And Roses #2) by Sarah J. Mass, This was the best book of 2016 and an all time favorite, it’s a 10/5 stars and that is a thing, no sleep and a math exam failed kind of book!

The books I fully reread in order to read the ones on my May TBR that I am counting:

  • The Raven Boys (The Raven cycle #1) by Maggie Stiefvater
  • The Dream Thieves (The Raven Boys #2) by Maggie Stiefvater
  • Blue Lily, Lily Blue (The Raven Boys #3) by Maggie Stiefvater
  • A Court Of Thorns And Roses by Sarah J. Mass

Unexpected reads of May:

  • The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson, It took me a while to get into this one and I’m not sure if it was my book slump or the writing, but I just didn’t enjoy it to the fullest, but I liked the characters and the plot! (4/5 stars, Β fell asleep at 5am)
  • Angel Tormented (Louisiangel #3) by C.L. Coffey, I’ll post a review for both the 2nd and the 3rd in one post, I enjoyed this one and it’s already a second time when this series is my transitioning from a book slump! (3,8/5 stars , fell asleep at 4am)

That’s all the books I read in May! The terrible month of finals and slumps I call it! I currently am doing a terrible thing and watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer when I have an exam in a day that I should study for. And I’m also still slumping big time after ACOMAF and I bow to queen Sarah! I have so many reviews to make up for and I’m sorry, I’m planning on working really hard in June and catching up with all of the ones I have to post! Wish me luck on my microeconomics exam, I’m pretty sure it’s the most dreadful subject in history 😦 Also I’ve been insanely obsecively listening to Hamilton and I’m a lithuanian living in Lithuania so… People are looking at me funny when I run up and start fangirling and rapping πŸ˜€

April Wrap Up!

Hi everyone!

So like always I’m a super lazy procrastinator, and like 3 days late, but I was reading a few super good books and just couldn’t get away to do a post πŸ˜€ I think we’ve all been there. The month of April was not too good reading wise, even though I finally read a few books that I’ve been putting of for a while, and fell in love with some great ones, I read less than I expected, because after the amazing books I read it was hard to get into anything else.

Books I read in April:

  • Invaded (Alienated #2) I’m currently writing a review on the two books, but honestly it might still take a few days, since I’m not really sure what I think about them.
  • Passenger by Alexandra Bracken, I’ll be posting a review of this one soon!
  • The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh, I loved this book and it got me into a bit of a slump, I just bought the second one and I’m planning on reading it this week πŸ™‚
  • Never Fade (The Darkest Minds#2) I’m so proud for finally reading this one, since it was on my TBR for 3 months in a row, but I kept getting intimidated by it, I ended up liking it a lot more than the first book.

Books I read that I got a review copy of:

  • Perfect Sense by Amanda Cowen, Liking this New adult novel a lot and I’m certain I will read the second one. I have a soft spot in me for New Adult, get’s me out of slumps. A review of this one has been up on my blog for a while.
  • Angel in Training (Louisiangel #1) My review has been posted a few days ago, it’s a really fun and intriguing YA trilogy!
  • Angel Eclipsed (Louisiangel #2) I will post a review soon, after reading the first I just really needed to know what happens next πŸ˜€
  • Hawaiian Heartbreak by Libby Cole, This is a New Adult Trilogy, but the books are pretty short so I count it as one, since I also read it all in one night. I have a review for this one. All I have to say is that if you like romance and fluff with a dash of smut pick it up!

So I read 8 books in the month of April, but some of these were a bit long, so I’m pretty proud of my progress, I also finally started facing my fear of being in front of a camera and attempted youtubing. All the books I read were really good and I can’t even pick a favorite!

March Wrap up

Hi guys! So the month of March has been a little stressful for me and time consuming, since I have mid-term exams the first week of April and I have so much to study even though procrastination is my middle name. So I didn’t really read a lot from my huge TBR I had, I’m admitting I was way too ambitious…

Anyways the books I did read from my TBR for march are:

  • Rebel Spring (Falling Kingdoms #2) I have read this like 3 weeks ago, but since I suck, I still didn’t post a review, I’m just not sure what I think, but I am writing it, and it will be up soon.
  • Glass Sword (Red Queen #2) Also will post a review, but can I just say it broke my heart to a million peaces..
  • Diamonds in the Rough (Secret Diamond Sisters #2) Was a fun and easy read after the heart shattering Glass Sword.
  • The Score (Off – Campus #3) The review on the Off – Campus series is up, go check it out!

Unexpected reads of the month (usually happen, because of book tours or reading slumps):

  • Destroy Me by Shana Vanterpool
  • Of faith and fear by N.D. Jones
  • Fallen too far (Rosemary Beach #1)
  • Never too far (Rosemary Beach #2)
  • Forever too far (Rosemary Beach #3)

I will also make a short post on the Too far trilogy in the Rosemary Beach series by Abbi Glines since I just read it all in two days. Abbi Glines always gets me out of my reading slumps!! πŸ™‚

In total I read 9 books during the month of March, not too shabby, but I hope to do better with my next TBR!

Please follow me on my instagram @sleepvsread and twitter @iamnotmoon to know more about my daily bookish ideas! I was also thinking of maybe doing some videos about books and starting a youtube channel, but I’m a bit scared.. 😦

Have a nice month and look out for my April TBR and book reviews! As always feel free to contact me with anything you’d like for me to read and comment with ideas! πŸ™‚

February Wrap Up!

Hi Guys!!!

So I know I’ve posted a lot today, but here it is! My February wrap up. Even though we have less days in this month, I stayed on my goodreads challenge for 2016 track!

Read 8 books in total! So happy! An all of the books were great, no disappointments!

  • Dreams of Gods and Monsters (Daughter of Smoke and Bone #3)
  • The Mistake (Off-Campus #2)
  • Alienated (Alienated #1)
  • The Heir (The Selection #4)
  • The Deal (Off-Campus #1)
  • The Secret Diamond Sisters (The Secret Diamond Sisters #1)
  • Red Queen (Red Queen #1)
  • Falling Kingdoms (Falling Kingdoms #1)

So I finally finished the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series and I was very happy with the ending, totally a completely sleepless night book on the sleep vs read scale. I have both trouble and love with it (took me half a year to pick up the second book).

It was very funny, but I thought that The Mistake is the first in the series and read it first, didn’t make the series any worse, I enjoy Off-Campus so much. It let’s me dream of my own university romance (Ha ha, still waiting on that, to many books to read). This series is just so fast and generally nice to read. Read both books in one sitting and just had a blast doing it.

With the Secret Diamond Sisters we were of with a rocky start, I kept waiting for the story to pick up and get faster, but we ended up with a pretty unclimactic end. A snooze at 2am kind of book.

I enjoyed Alienated a lot and the story interest me a lot, but the book was so short I decided on reviewing after I read the second book as well. The kind where you are in the book till 4am and then regret it tomorrow when you fall asleep on your desk.

Lastly,Β And as you already know I loved The Heir, Red Queen and Falling Kingdom, read full reviews and opinions in my book reviews!

That’s pretty much it on my February book experience. I lost a lot of nights to reading and I don’t regret a single one of them. Hopefully March is going to go better in the sleeping department, I need it.

As always, leave a comment with any books you think I should read, or thoughts you have!

Fair well February.
